The Pepperl+Fuchs RSD-GW3-Ex2.DPE is an intrinsically safe, distributed communication gateway module designed for explosion-proof automation topologies. It serves as a network interface, converting internal backplane bus protocols to external PROFIBUS DP-V1 fieldbus layers and vice versa. The module handles up to 8 backplane-mounted I/O modules, enables full transparent routing of HART diagnostic telegrams directly to field instruments, and supports hot-swapping under voltage in hazardous zones to ensure continuous plant runtime.
