Product Overview 

The Bently Nevada 74712-03-10-02-00 is a high-temperature, two-wire Seismoprobe® velocity transducer designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) vibration of bearing housings, casings, and structural components on rotating and reciprocating machinery . It is the high-temperature version of the standard 9200 velocity sensor, extending the maximum operating temperature. This transducer uses proven moving-coil technology to generate an output voltage directly proportional to the vibration velocity of the target surface . Unlike accelerometer-based sensors that integrate electronic circuits, the moving-coil design has reduced sensitivity to shock excitation, making it an excellent choice for applications with transient or impact events . Additionally, because moving-coil sensors are self-generating and require no external power, they are convenient for both permanent monitoring installations and portable periodic measurement applications .

High-Temperature OperationRated for continuous operation from -29°C to +204°C (-20°F to +400°F) , making it suitable for harsh thermal environments such as gas turbines, steam turbines, and process compressors where standard sensors would fail .

Low Shock SensitivityUnlike integrated accelerometer-based velocity sensors, the moving-coil design is less sensitive to shock and impact excitation, providing more reliable measurements in applications with transient events .

Low-Frequency ResponseThe 03 option provides a minimum operating frequency of 4.5 Hz (270 cpm) , enabling accurate vibration monitoring on slow-speed machinery such as cooling tower fans (100-300 rpm) and air-cooled heat exchangers .

High SensitivityProvides a nominal sensitivity of 20 mV/mm/s (500 mV/in/s) ±5% , generating a strong signal proportional to vibration velocity for accurate machinery health assessment .

Robust Mechanical DesignConstructed to withstand harsh industrial environments with excellent resistance to contamination, oil, and moisture. The transducer can survive mechanical shocks up to 50 g (peak) along its non-sensitive transverse axis .

Two-Wire SystemIntegrates seamlessly with Bently Nevada 3300 and 3500 Series monitoring systems, as well as speed/position converters for additional signal conditioning options .
