The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements. The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems.

FAQ
Q: What is the 330104-04-12-05-01-05?
A: It is a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe.
Q: Why can't the 0.5m (-05) 330104-04-12-05-01-05 be directly connected to the preamplifier?
A: The 3300 XL system is a tuned system. The 0.5m probe must be used with a 4.5m (for a 5m system) or 8.5m (for a 9m system) extension cable. If the total lengths don't match, the preamplifier output sensitivity will no longer be the standard 200 mV/mil, resulting in completely incorrect vibration readings.
Q: Is there a difference in wiring between the "reverse mounting" and regular probes of 330104-04-12-05-01-05?
A: There is no difference in wiring, but the physical installation is different. The 330104 has threads on the rear of the probe and is typically used with the 330191 series probe housing. This allows you to adjust the probe gap or replace the probe via the external housing without shutting down the system.
Q: If I accidentally bought a reverse mounting type, can I install it in a regular threaded hole of 330104-04-12-05-01-05?
A: No. Regular probes are screwed in from the inside out, while reverse mounting probes are locked in from the outside in. If the unit is not designed for reverse installation, the probe cannot be secured.
