The HEIDENHAIN ROD630 900 28S0 is an incremental rotary encoder designed for industrial automation applications. With 900 signal periods and a maximum scanning frequency of 300 kHz, the ROD630 900 28S0 provides precise position feedback for machine tools and motion control systems. It operates on a DC 10–30 V power supply, delivering HTL output signals and a 90° reference mark. The solid shaft (15 mm diameter, 30.1 mm length) and clamping flange (66 mm) with centering collar enable secure mounting. Rated IP66, the ROD630 900 28S0 withstands vibration (55–2000 Hz) and shock up to 2000 m/s², with operating temperatures from –20 °C to 85 °C. The 17-pin radial flange socket (D651828) allows flexible electrical connections. Mechanical speed up to 12,000 rpm, low starting torque (≤0.05 Nm), and rotor moment of inertia ≤11·10⁻⁶ kg·m² ensure fast, accurate response. Axial and radial shaft loads up to 75 N are supported. The ROD630 900 28S0 offers reliable position detection, flexible connection orientation, and integrated bearings for automated systems requiring high-precision rotary measurement.
