Product information

The 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements. The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: What is the maximum field tensile force that the cable of this 330101-00-16-10-11-05 probe can withstand?
A: It uses the manufacturer's patented CableLoc technology design. The joint between the probe housing and the cable can withstand a maximum pull of 330 Newtons (75 pounds), effectively preventing cable damage during on-site wiring.

Q: Can this 330101-00-16-10-11-05 probe be directly connected to an extension cable of any length?
A: No. With a 1.0-meter probe cable, the system must be matched with a 4-meter or 8-meter extension cable to achieve the standard 5-meter or 9-meter electrical length before connection to the preamplifier (Proximitor Sensor).

Q: What is the standard linear measurement range of this 330101-00-16-10-11-05 probe?
A: A standard 8 mm system is used, with a 2.0 mm (80 mils) linear measurement range and 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) sensitivity (ASF) for static and dynamic measurements.

Q: Are special tools required when installing the coaxial connector for 330101-00-16-10-11-05 in the field?
A: No. This probe uses a ClickLoc connector. Simply tighten with your finger until you hear a "click" sound, indicating successful locking. This prevents the probe from loosening due to vibration during operation.

Q: What are the hardware requirements for the openings and lateral clearances on the unit housing when installing the 330101-00-16-10-11-05?
A: To prevent the electromagnetic side-view effect, there must be no non-target metal within a 15 mm (0.6 in) radius around the probe centerline. If installed in a blind hole, the counterbore diameter must be at least 19.1 mm (0.75 in).

Application

Power Plants: Monitoring the shaft-line condition of large steam turbine-generator units to prevent catastrophic overspeed or excessive vibration that could lead to grid outages.

Cement Plants / Paper Mills: Monitoring the operating displacement of equipment such as cement kiln main fans, large paper machine dryer cylinders, and drive chains.

Refineries / Chemical Plants: Monitoring high-risk, continuously operating cracking gas compressors and large pump systems to prevent media leakage or explosions caused by bearing wear.

Iron & Steel Plants / Blast Furnaces: Monitoring the operating condition of large rotating equipment such as blast furnace blowers and sintering fans.

Coal Preparation Plants / Mineral Processing Plants: Monitoring vibration of critical rotating equipment such as heavy-duty crushers and main ventilation fans.
